Sabancı University Former Secretary-General
Haluk Bal was born in Karamürsel in 1954. After graduating from Darüşşafaka High School in 1973, he completed his BA in 1978 at Istanbul University Faculty of Management. Between 1978-1980, he worked as the Managing Director of The Journal of Banks and Economic Perspectives (Banka ve Ekonomik Yorumlar Dergisi). Between 1981-1983, he worked as an Expert of Financial Affairs at IBM Turk Limited Company. From 1984 to 1996, he was employed as a Sales Representative, Marketing Manager, and a Director at the Finance Sector. After working as a Marketing Manager at I-BIMSA from 1997 to 1999, he became the Director-General of I-BIMSA between the years 2000-2004. From 2005 to 2019, he served as a Secretary-General of Sabanci University. He married Lawyer Buket Bal in 1988 and his son Sinan Bal was born in 1991.
