The talk discusses funding opportunities for gender research in the European Research Area. Andrea Pető has served in different capacities as an expert and advisor for the European Commission. Based on her experience, she will be sharing insights on research grants for gender research and discussing how the concept of "gender" is changing inside the EC and beyond.

We congratulate our Advisory Board member Andrea Pető who is awarded the "European Academies Madame de Staël Prize for Cultural Values" in recognition of her invaluable contributions to gender studies and European contemporary history studies.
Museums and memory sites play a key role in shaping and transforming collective memory, as well as in accessible knowledge production on collective pasts and presents. Yet, despite the critical knowledge production on gender, sexuality and memory in the past decades and the development of feminist pedagogy, many museums and memory sites remain uncritical of conventional gender roles, contributing to the further reproduction of gender based norms and inequalities.
Gender and Education conference will be held between May 11-13, 2018 in İstanbul. There will be simultaneous translation during the Conference (Turkish-English). Please e-mail genderconf@sabanciuniv.edu to register.
