A panel was held at the Minerva Palas in Karaköy on December 17, 2016, focusing on the book “Halide Edib and Political Violence: Armenian Massacre, Dictatorship and Nonviolence” by Hülya Adak, Sabancı University faculty member. All adjectives used to describe Halide Edib, including intellectual, politician, modernizer, liberal, and critical, were discussed at the panel by speakers focusing on her work and life from different perspectives and fields.

Erol Köroğlu, Çimen Günay Erkol, Murat Cankara, Laurent Mignon and Hazal Halavut attended the panel as speakers. The speakers discussed both the book by Hülya Adak and the work of Halide Edib focusing on the Armenian issue, theater, female writers and the chapter on India in the book. After the speeches, Fahri Aral, Editor of publisher of the book, Istanbul Bilgi University Press, and Hülya Adak also participated in the discussion and the audience communicated their questions and comments.
