Cenk Özbay has been an associate professor of sociology and gender studies at Sabanci University’ Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences since 2016. They received their B.A. and M.A. degrees from Boğaziçi University and their Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Southern California. Their research and teaching focuses on gender and sexuality, masculinities, the body, cities, culture, and neoliberalism. They have published extensively in national and international academic journals. Cenk Özbay is the author of Queering Sexualities in Turkey (2017) and co-editor of Yeni Istanbul Çalışmaları (2014) and The Making of Neoliberal Turkey (2016), among other books.
