ACCTING Project Specialist

Dr. Esin Düzel is a Project Specialist for the Horizon2020 project ACCTING (Advancing Behavioral Change through an Inclusive Green Deal), and gender equality trainer at Purple Certificate and ProGender+ programs. She received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), MA in Comparative Studies from the Ohio State University, and BA in Cultural Studies from Sabanci University. Her work focuses on space and morality in conflicts, feminist peace, and future studies (with a focus on utopias and climate crisis). As a lecturer at UCSD and recent Teaching Fellow in the European Institute at London School of Economics, she taught courses on multiculturalism, racism, transnational feminism, religious conflict, and Turkey-Europe relationships. Dr. Düzel has published in journals such as International Feminist Journal of Politics (IFJP), Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and Current Anthropology. Currently, she is completing her book project entitled “A Utopia of One´s Own: Translating Gender, Space and Violence in the New Middle East.” Based in Helsinki with her family, Dr. Düzel enjoys running, berry and mushroom picking, and swimming in its forests and lakes.
