As part of the 20th anniversary of the European Journal of Women's Studies, the Conference on Gender and Narratives of Political Change was held on October 17-18, 2014.
The conference aimed to create a dynamic forum focusing on two main issues to discuss narratives of contemporary political change from a feminist perspective. Based on these narratives, the focus was on understanding sex and sexuality, analyzing the responses of feminist and LGBTI movements, and creating stories of political change and/or alternative narratives. The speakers included Kathy Davis, Andrea Petö, Nadje Al-Ali, Dubravka Zarkov, Veronica Pravadelli, Annedith Schneider, madeleine kennedy-macfoy, Ulrika Dahl, Ann Phoenix, Sibel Irzık, Ayşe Parla, Ayşe Gül Altınay, Hülya Adak, and Ayşe Betül Çelik.
