In the panel moderated by Ayşe Kadıoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Nadje Al-Ali comparatively discussed the women's movement in Iraq at the beginning of the occupation and its aftermath. Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian gave a speech titled "Crimes Committed in the Peace Process". She talked about the peace process in Palestine, how the process affected women and the women's movement in Palestine. Hilal Alkan from the Women for Peace Initiative spoke about the peace process in Turkey. She mentioned that women were not heard during the peace process. Nebahat Akkoç from KAMER argued that the concepts of democracy and peace were intertwined and said that there could be no peace without democracy.
