Fulya Kama Özelkan

GEARING-Roles Project Specialist

Fulya is a PhD Candidate in Gender Studies Program at Sabancı University and also working as an instructor at Istanbul Technical University in Advanced English Program. She received her MA from Sabancı University, Cultural Studies Program and BA from Boğaziçi University, English Language and Literature Department. She is a feminist researcher whose interests focus on gender-based violence and women’s empowerment, digital feminist activism, online and offline feminist solidarity networks, #MeToo movement, resistance as well as struggles of women against sexual violence. Besides,  she has been working with KAMER, a women’s organization operating in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions of Turkey, on several projects carried out for women’s empowerment against violence since 2007. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of KAMER Foundation since 2018.
